This one came about late one night. I was thinking back about being a teenager and growing up in South Mississippi. Hanging out with friends on the river, first kisses, sneaking a drink of beer or wine. Staying out past curfew, etc. Someone asked me recently if this song had any real life truth behind it? Parts of it, I guess. But as far as longing for a long lost love from my past...not so much. I do cherish the memories though. All our experiences and relationships make us who we are today. And I'm thankful for that.
lyrics
Drunk On Love Bryan Austin
I wonder what you're doing lately
Are you settled in your life
Have you found your Mr. Right
And do you ever think about me
The good times we used to have
Do you ever just look back
And remember
Running bare feet down Wolf Creek Road
That Mississippi mud in between our toes
Skinny dipping in the moonshine
Yeah you looked so fine
Laying in the back of my old Ford truck
Sipping cheap wine from a plastic cup
And making sweet love
Till the sun came up
We drank our fill till we both had enough
We were drunk on love
It doesn't seem that long ago
Yeah the years roll on
And I'm right where I belong
But I still catch myself dreaming
About a long sweet kiss
And Mogen David wine on my lips
And I remember
(chorus)
Sometimes a song can take me back
Or and old dirt road
And just like that
(chorus)
